The Great Novel is a folk band from Montreal that combines roots sounds with a rock and roll mindset.
Endrick Tremblay (lead vocal, guitar, harmonica, words)
MarcOlivier Tremblay Drapeau (double bass and vocals)
Gabrièle Côté (vocals and percussion)
The Great Novel has been riding on the arid plains for many moons. Bourbon on their breath, they follow a sonic trail that splits the spaghetti western and the white noise of the city they call home. With groaning strings and stretching skins they weave a story to inhabit, reinventing themselves in the spirit of the band.
They have over four years together and many accomplishments, two albums co-produced by Dany Placard, critical acclaim, extensive touring, and a theme song for Radio Canada's series 'Sur Les Traces de Kerouac'. With hundreds of shows in their holsters, the Great Novel takes aim on their upcoming record with only one mantra: 'You've got to shed your skin on the road of existence.'
“The Great Novel (…) has reincarnated the true meaning of folk with tales of Americana, of relationships, and of the human condition.” Anthony Hamsel, Confront Magazine
